| Collaboration with BII - Biosystems Informatics Institute |
|
The Biosystems Informatics Institute (Bii) is a new UK government initiative funded by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Regional Development Agency, One NorthEast. From its outset the Institute for Systems Biology Spb will undertake industry-facing research and development in collaboration with the UK biotech and pharmaceutical industries. In the framework of this collaboration large-scale investigations of NSAIDs side effects have been made in the Institute for Systems Biology Spb. At the present time it is the first experience when in the one model drug side effects have been taken into account at all three levels: enzymatic, cellular and organismal. Predictions of this model had sufficient benifit at understanding of NSAIDs side effects and the development of drug safety strategies. |
